We built Vroomly to make driving instructors’ working lives simpler. Part of that means being straight with you about how we handle your data — no legal jargon, no burying things in small print.
Who We Are
Vroomly.ie is an online platform for driving instructors and learner drivers in Ireland. When we say “we”, “us”, or “Vroomly” in this policy, we mean the team behind Vroomly.ie.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, reach us at:

What Information We Collect
From instructors:
- Name, email address, and password when you register
- Profile information you choose to add — bio, location, availability
- Booking records and calendar data
- Student assessment records you create on the platform
- Payment and billing information processed securely through Stripe
From students:
- Name and email address when your account is created
- Booking history and lesson records
- EDT progress and mock test results shared by your instructor
Automatically:
- Basic usage data such as pages visited and device type
- Cookies required for the platform to function correctly
We do not collect anything we do not need.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Run your account and keep the platform working correctly
- Process lesson bookings and subscription payments
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and account notifications
- Allow instructors to manage their students and assessment records
- Improve the platform based on how it is used
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except where necessary to operate the service — for example, Stripe for payments and our email delivery provider for notifications.
Data Isolation
Every instructor’s data is completely separate. Your students, bookings, and assessment records are visible only to you and the students they relate to. No other instructor on the platform can access your data under any circumstances.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days unless we are legally required to retain certain records for longer — for example, payment records which are kept for 7 years under Irish tax law.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to how we process your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@vroomly.ie. We will respond within 5 working days.
Cookies
Vroomly uses cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you disable cookies in your browser, some parts of the platform may not work correctly.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
- Stripe — secure payment processing. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Email provider — for sending booking confirmations and account notifications.
- Twilio — for SMS notifications where enabled.
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Security
Your data is stored securely and access is protected by encryption and authentication controls. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information. If you ever suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at support@vroomly.ie.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent update.
